Steve Carnevale

Mr. Carnevale is a venture capitalist, passionate about entrepreneurship and social impact philanthropy.   He is a successful entrepreneur, founding businesses and nonprofits, including the University of Michigan’s Center for Entrepreneurship, the UCSF Dyslexia Center, the California Institute for Law Neuroscience & Education, the California Capital in the Community, and Point Cypress Ventures.  He was appointed by Governor Newsom as Commissioner on the California Mental Health Commission bringing his business, technology innovation and neuroscience backgrounds to the pervasive challenges of untreated, undiagnosed mental health conditions.  His current focus on Brain Capital explores how biological neuroscience can unlock the potential of people, companies and countries.

Agent for Social Change:  In addition to serving as a founding board member of The 90~10 Institute.  Mr. Carnevale is a founding Advisory Board Chair of the UCSF Dyslexia Center; Founder and co-Chair of Breaking Barriers by 8; Board Treasurer of the SERP Institute; Senior Board Advisor to ESO Ventures. 

Mr. Carnevale holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan School of Engineering.
